Short history of the breed. The Dogo Argentino is the national dog of Argentina. He originated in the twenties and his creator was dr. Antonio Nores Martinez. He wanted to create a powerful and courageous hunting dog, who also was a good watch and family dog.
The demands that were set for this dog, were high, because the game existed from boars, cougars and jaguars. With the Old Fighting Dog of Cordoba from Spain as starting point the spotted German Dog was bred in as well as the Mastin de los Pirineos, the Bordeaux Dog, the Boxer, the Bull Terrier and the English Bulldog.
