The Mastin Espanol descend of old fight - and scenthounds which have
occurred since time immemorial in Europe. In the country of origin
he was used for the hunting on larger game, but especially as a
guard dog. He is particularly brave and commands admiration, but is
nevertheless mild and pleasant. He appears fairly little outside the country of origin.
