The Hanoverian hound arose as separate race in the years
thirty of the nineteenth century by junction of several light German
effraction races with the Sollingbrak, the Haidbrak and braktype from the Harz. The race is especially used as a bloodhound for shotted wild animals. The heavy head does rather think of that of the Saint Hubertusdogs.
