Short history of the breed:The Andalusian, one of Spain's most famous horses, has a past somewhat veiled in mistery. There are three explanations of the origin of the breed and there is no denying that the breed is ancient. The Andalusian has had a lot of influence on a tremendous number of breeds. In Europe their influence is seen in the Holstein, the Oldenburg, the Frederiksborg, the Kladruber, the Lipizzaner, the Hackney, the Frisian, the Old Norman Horse, the Orlov and in America in the Quarter Horse and the Criollo.
Breed description:Head: long, attractive with a broad forehead, a straight or convex profile
Eyes: large and kind
Ears: small
Body: neck if quite thick, nicely arched and set well onto good, sloping shoulders, the chest should be broad and deep, the barrel rounded, the back short and compact, the quarters muscular. The tail is set low and thick.
Movement: they have a high-stepping movement.
Coat: mane and tail have silky hair
Colour: mostly gray, bay, black, chestnut, roan in colour
Shoulder height: between 1,55 and 1,61 m
Possibilities of use: riding, showing
Charakter:They have excellent temperament, being docile and quit but also energetic and brave.
