Short history of the breed:The Anglo Arab is bred throughout Europe. In England one of the most succesful crosses is between an Arabian stallion an a Thoroughbred mare since this combinations tends to produce larger and better offspring than that between a Thoroughbred stallion and an Arabian mare. The breeding of Anglo Arab
is quit a science and is achieved through knowledgeable selective breeding. Anglo Arab must have at least 25% of Arab blood in them. The Anglo Arab should combine the best features of the Arab and the Thoroughbred.
Breed description:Head: finely modelled, not be overly dished in profile
Body: neck of good length and nicely curved from withers to poll, the shoulders are very powerful and should slope to allow for speed and free movement. Deep chest, compact through the body with powerful quarters, the legs should be well-conformed with strong tendons, good bone.
Movement: naturally good movers
Colour: bay, brown or chestnut, can be any colour, white markings
Shoulder height: between 1,55 and 1,61 m
Possibilities of use: riding, jumping
Charakter:The Anglo Arab is a natural athlete with great jumping ability
