  Short history of the breed:

They may have originated from Western Asia but little is know about their origin. They are one of the most ancient pure breds and they are probably descendend from the primitive Horse Typ 4, like the Akhal Teke. The first Arab Horse in Britain was in A.D. 1121. The purity of the Arab Horse is maintained by the Arab Horse Association and the World Arab Horse Association which lay down strict pedigree standards that must be met in order to register as pure-bred.
